Many years ago, my wife Millie, (now deceased) and I dreamed of living and cruising on a boat for an extended period of time. This book takes you through the planning process, the preparations prior to actually leaving family and friends behind, and buying a suitable boat on which to live and cruise. It is not meant to be a procedural guide; rather it is a record of places we visited and the extraordinary folks we met along the way. It looks at the day-to-day activities of living aboard and the unanticipated demands that go with the lifestyle. Follow us as we begin our journey in Florida near Sarasota, and proceed to Fort Myers, Key West and Fort Pierce. We embarked from Fort Pierce on a cruise north on the Atlantic ICW to the Upper Chesapeake Bay, returning to Punta Gorda, FL. From there we embarked on two other passages: to the Bahamas and across the Gulf of Mexico to Gulfport, MS .
