Excerpt from The Punishment of Death: To Which Is Appended His Treatise on Public Responsibility and Vote
Henry Romilly, the author of the following treatise, was the fourth son of Sir Samuel Romilly. He was born October 21, 1805, and died December 25, 1884. He married, in 1850, Rosa Gardiner Morris, an American lady, a descendant of the old Quaker settlers of Pennsylvania.
