This textbook is intended as a guide in biochemistry for stu­dents specializing in medicine and pharmaceutics. The book comprises four large sections in which the molecular fundamen­tals of structural cellular organization, vital activity and pa­thology of the cells, functional biochemistry of tissues and organs, and certain aspects of applied biochemistry are present­ed. The material of the manual is essentially based on recent achievements in the domain of biological chemistry. The author"s major concern has been focused on medicobiological and pharmaceutic aspects of biological chemistry. The book handles the general problems of pathobiochemistry, clinical and pharmaceutic biochemistry - the topics that are essential for the study of practical pharmacy and medicine, but rather seldom dealt with in the current teaching literature on biochemistry.
