Zaibatsu starts at the very end of the Japan-US conflict in World War II. We have just dropped the atom bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and the Japanese have unconditionally surrendered. However, a small group of Japanese industrialists, known as the Zaibatsu, are meeting in Tokyo to plan the next war. This, however, will be an economic war, not with guns and tanks.
Meanwhile a young Japanese girl, Patricia Yamata, is growing up in Los Angeles. She is very bright, becomes a computer expert, and ends up working for a government agency in Washington D.C. that does research on specialized projects, including the economic recovery in Japan after the war.
Due to some unusual events, Patricia and Michael Stone, an ex FBI agent, who now works for the same agency as Patricia, are sent to Tokyo to do some background work on the Japanese recovery. They quickly come under the scrutiny of the Zaibatsu group.
Jack Doyle, author of "The Zaibatsu Chronicle" has had an extensive relationship with the country of Japan. It began when he enlisted in the United States Air Force, and was stationed in Japan for three years.
Eleven years later he went to work for the U. S. subsidiary of Pioneer, a Japanese manufacturer of stereo equipment. The first employee of this subsidiary, his task was to introduce Pioneer Car Stereo into the U. S. market.
He worked for Pioneer for twenty years as President of the subsidiary. The need for close cooperation with the home office in Tokyo caused Mr. Doyle to make over 80 trips to Japan during this period. This experience provided him with a great deal of the detail for his novel, over half of which takes place in the Tokyo area.
If you have had the opportunity to travel to Japan, you will find this book to be interesting. Это и многое другое вы найдете в книге The Zaibatsu Chronicle (Jack Doyle)
