The Nature Equation is about where we are now, with our accelerating science and technology, and how it relates to our human potential, in terms of transpersonal intelligence, being and spirituality. It juxtaposes our scientific understanding with reference to the Self, and shows how science"s quest to find who we are, and where we come from, must eventually converge towards transpersonal intelligence. Some people may feel that mathematics and hard science is a distraction from our spirituality. The Nature Equation shows that it is part of a process connected with it, and in parts includes the use of mathematical illustrations and objects themselves, as a means of communication and encouragement to go deeper than facts and theory. It show that ultimately, in science, we must go beyond the mind of the evolutionary human ape itself, as science converges with the knowledge of who we are, and where we come from. The title refers to a fictional scenario - "The Parable of the Race", used as a communication picture in part of the book. It illustrates how the quest for a "theory of everything" in physics and cosmology cannot be found before the hard scientific understanding of the relationship between the human brain and the human mind. The book also includes an accessible description of some of the mathematics that shows why human brain function is limited by the nature of its own network complexity, but how breaking out of this limitation is already a potential in its current state.
