Barbara Hannah was a close associate of Carl Gustav Jung. This book features a seminar she gave at the Psychological Club in 1954 about the images of the cat, the dog, and the horse in the psychological and cultural life of the western world. It also includes the lecture Hannah presented to an American audience on the subject of the Beyond. Early in her adult life Hannah traveled to Zurich to study with Jung, and she lived there for the rest of her life, sharing a house with Marie-Louise von Franz.
