Learning English makes it simple for students to study independently. The text uses easily understood symbols to guide the student through the lesson. In addition, the illustrations in the text mirror the visual aids used in the TV/video lesson to help students match what they are reading with what they have learned during the TV/video lesson. To facilitate self-correction, the answers to the exercises appear at the bottom of each page.
Learning English is designed to allow students to learn independently. However, the addition of a teacher or tutor can make the program even more effective. Also the program is well suited for use in a multilevel classroom with one group studying Learning English independently while the teacher directs another group.
