Legends and Heroes: the Tale of the Taskmaster is the story of Mira, Eli and Gavin: three twelve-year-olds living in Appalachia in the late 1940s. When Mira drags the two boys out to explore an abandoned mine, they end up trapped inside it. A legendary frontiersman named the Georgia Peach comes to their rescue. Aided by a talking raccoon named Big Paw, the Peach tries to lead the kids to safety, but instead takes them through a portal to another dimension. Suddenly finding themselves far below the surface of the Red Desert, they are enslaved in the mines of the Taskmastera??a Villain hell-bent on locating the Cave of Treasures and the Orb of Destiny that lies inside it.
