Like a character in one of his stories, Sigizmund Krzhizhanovsky has returned from oblivion. Prominent in Moscow literary circles in the 1920s and "30s, he was all but unpublished. The day he died, a critic mourned the passing of "a writer-visionary, an unsung genius."
