Jenna is excited for the Cookbook Nook to sponser a meeting of the town's Chocolate Cookbook Club. For its winter meeting, the club invites Coco Chastain, a local candy maker, cookbook author, and good friend of Jenna's, to chat with them. It's also Pirate Week in town with boat tours, swordfights, and more. All goes swimmingly until tempers break and Coco's editor Allison is found dead, stabbed with kitchen shears. Were her edits too much for Coco or another of her authors? Did the company photographer give a hill of beans about the boss? Did the copy editor feel she deserved more recognition and snap? Jenna cannot believe her pal is guilty and comes to her defense.
