Urbanization such as population growth, industrial development, solid waste, and households lead to different behaviors of water quality parameters in nature. By increasing urban growth, both surface and ground water quality are contaminated in different ways. To investigate the water quality situation, different impacts due to population growth, land use change, industrial expansion and projected solid waste condition were considered for the Savar Pourashava. Due to urbanization, there are massive impacts on localities such as population growth, land use change, more solid waste generation, drainage networks etc. The river has become a dumping ground for all kinds of solids, liquids and chemical wastes by industry. As a result the quality of the water is being deteriorated day by day. The quality of water is degrading in a large scale.
