A Thing Of The Past Curtis Moon

After she is taken to hospital in an unconscious condition, her brother, who hadn't seen her for fifteen years finds her diary. It describes in detail that as a fifteen year old schoolgirl, she ran off with a school teacher and married him in Gretna Green only to be left deserted, pregnant, moneyless and homeless. She roams the streets and is taken into a nunnery but leaves when her baby dies. From then on, in great despair, she almost takes her own life until fate takes a hand. She escapes by becoming a nurse with Medicins san Frontieres in Southern Sudan working hard in a refugee camp before being captured by rebels but she manages to get free.
