It seems like looking up a page of very ancient history when I take my mind back to the day on which I entered Sandhurst. So much has been crammed into those four and a half years that the beginning of them seems to belong to another world. And yet, in a way, they have gone quickly. Time always does fly when you are busy. And it is only since 1914 that I have learnt what it means to be really busy. One thought one had a lot to do in Trial Week at School, or when one was Head of this or Captain of that. But if necessary one could do twice the work - I mean if one really had to. At Oxford, where I passed a few pleasant terms, one thought one was busy in School"s week; but it seems as nothing compared to what people have had to do since, both in military and civil life. Every one has been at high pressure.
