As I have found that the principles laid down by the late H.O. Thomas, in his work on Hip, Knee and Ankle, have not been generally known to medical men throughout the world, and as I have proved by successful treatment for many years that the methods of Thomas are the only satisfactory methods for treatment of diseases of the hip-joint, I have decided to bring before the profession the conclusions I have come to from the treatment of numerous cases at the Childrens Hospital, Melbourne, where I have been Honorary Surgeon for twenty-three years, and at the same time to show the improvements introduced by myself, and taught to many of my resident surgeons at this hospital.
