But few words are necessary to explain the relation which this work is designed to sustain that important branch of the Sunday School work, - the Concert. The Sunday School Concert, from a humble beginning has increased in popularity, until it is now recognized as an occasion of great interest.
To meet a want which has been felt for a long time, by Superintendants and Teachers who desire to present at their Concerts some special subject or torpic, this book has been prepared as an assistant to their labors.
The Exercises are all new, both in subject and arrangement, and have never been published in any form before; if thought desirable they can easily be shortened by omitting some portions, or lengthened, with the aid of a Concordance and Manual. It is hoped that it may be of use to our Sunday School Workers, in preparing for Concert occasions, and be the means of assisting in this department of Christian labor.
