"The Lord is a great God,
And a great King above all gods;
In His hand are the deep places of the earth,
And the strength of the hills is His also.
The sea is His, and He made it,
And His hands formed the dry land.
The discoveries of science reveal to us that the "beginning" of this earth of ours was a fluid mass of fiery vapour, of intensely heated gas, "without form and void," rolling on and on, around its axis, receiving a globular form by the effect of its rotatory movement, and by its continued exposure in space gathering around it a thin crust, a rough uneven surface.
