A preface is usually an apology or justification, and I do not intend to apologize for this work, believing that the wonderful success of Bethlehem Steel completely justifies the telling of its story.
On looking over the pages, however, it seemed that more might have been devoted to a study of Charles M. Sehwab, the man. But in the final analysis it is plain that when one writes of Bethlehem he writes of Sehwab, who made it.
