The object of this book is to teach the traveler to keep himself well, and to help others who are less fortunate. It is bad enough to fall sick at home, but how much worse when among strangers!
Having traveled myself in almost every climate, and in every quarter of the globe, my experience and my profession have induced me to set forth in plain and brief language a number of suggestions which it will be worth while for travelers to remember. I shall be glad to learn of others of a practical nature, and shall be thankful for any such which may be sent me, care of the publisher of this volume.
