Excerpt from Treatise on Water Supply, Drainage, and Sanitary Appliances of Residences: Including Machinery, Lighting and Cookery Apparatus
In modem residences of the present day architects have to deal with a large number of special appliances and apparatus. It has been suggested to the author that a few hints as to the best way of successfully carrying out these might be acceptable to many. Being engaged in the joint practice of architecture and engineering, he is well acquainted with the requirements for residences and other buildings.
The cold and hot water supply, heating apparatus, and sanitary works, require, in most cases, special provision made in the building, a proper consideration of which so much adds to the comfort and convenience of the occupiers.
