In offering this little work to the profession the author wishes to point out that it is published mainly for the use of senior students and practitioners. It presumes a knowledge of pathology, histology and anatomy, and aims to deal only with the clinical aspect of the various diseases. It does not presume to be an encyclopedia, but deals merely with the conditions commonly found in everyday practice. If it succeeds in arousing more interest in and deeper study of canine practice, the author feels that his labor will not have been in vain.
