Excerpt from The Spiritual Body: An Essay in Prose and Verse
The following Essay was printed by the Author in the early part of 1876 and circulated chiefly among private friends. Being afterwards published, he was encouraged by the result to enlarge it considerably, so that it can now scarcely be regarded as the same work. The prose part is nearly trebled in length, and he has added some minor poems on the same subject as the Essay, a few of which have already appeared in print.
