It is the year 2000 and something and the world is not what it was 500 years ago when Eagles and Ravens were revered. Time and modern science has changed the people of the West Coast. They no longer believe in the animal spirits and they no longer believe their own legends: the stories are forgotten, the young people no longer look up to the Raven, the bringer of the light, the transformer, the trickster, the creator.
