World War II and Me Colnul Coney Galbraith

This book is about the events in the life of a young 15 year old boy from the time of the bombing of Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941 until he was standing, as a man before his mother, as she welcomed him home from the war on June 7, 1946. It describes, briefly, how our people came together to fight an enemy and to protect our nation from tyranny. It is not a story of combat but is about the human side of people during wartime. It is a story of the wartime cruise of a ship and about some of the many young men, both good and bad, who served our country during this period. It is the story of an old man reliving his youth. It is a story that perhaps 16 million young men and women who at that time, were under arms and may still be able to relate some of these events to their own lives.
