The Iliad is an ancient Greek epic poem set during the Trojan War. It tells of the battles and events during the weeks of a quarrel between King Agamemnon and the warrior Achilles. The Iliad is paired with The Odyssey considered somewhat of a sequel, is among the oldest works of Western literature. Homer is revered as the greatest of ancient Greek epic poets.
