Fire And Murder Dan Zaccard

An off duty firefighter witnesses a murder while deer hunting. When he reports this to the local sheriff, he realizes that the murderer is a prominent elected official. With the body gone from the scene, and no evidence left, the enigma begins; who is dead and why? The witness, and the hunting land owner who is also a firefighter, begin to experience booby-trapped fires designed to kill them. Fires in abandoned buildings, assassination attempts by shooting and dirty politicians and cops. A fire captain is shot dead in a case of mistaken identity. These two are quickly forced to determine who is friend and who is foe in their community. An international plane crash brings a grieving FBI agent and his team to one of the smallest counties in Illinois. Although this FBI agent does not believe this case is related to his grieving, he is forced to help the firefighters find the killer. Quickly there is strife between the firefighters and the FBI. Follow the twists and turns as these firefighters fight for their lives in a way they are not accustomed.
