О книге

Barbara E. Robinson was born in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania in 1936 and attended schools there and in Philadelphia. She is a mother and grandmother and spent the majority of her adult life in Indianapolis, Indiana, where she raised her children, and later in Noblesville, Indiana.

Her interest in the Tabernacle began after doing research on the subject for a presentation at a church retreat. Volunteering in the "Young Life" ministry brought her to visit Tabernacle Presbyterian Church or, as it is better known, "TAB." It was their outstanding contribution to their inner city neighborhood and their children"s community-wide sports program that influenced her to become a member. After joining TAB her interest in the Tabernacle in the Wilderness grew and eventually led to her leading a class on the subject. While residing in Indianapolis she furthered her study of the Bible by attending the Bethel Bible Study and subsequently teaching the class.

The years spent volunteering in the church"s "Open Door" soup kitchen at the church is a treasured time. The pin she received for her one thousand hours of volunteering at Riley Children"s Hospital, Indianapolis, is her most valuable jewel.

Her move to Noblesville enabled her to pursue two other interests-historic preservation and gardening. After restoring an 1870"s Victorian Italianate home to accommodate her business, she won an award from Ball State University Architectural School for its adaptation from residence to business. Noblesville has a special place in her heart. She became involved in the local historical society, the local Habitat for Humanity, and was a charter member of the board of the Noblesville Main Street program.

Her interest in gardening led to an herb shop with an herb garden, enabling her to have a "Bible Garden" and to give talks about gardening and the symbolic herbs of the Bible. Several visits to England"s great gardens furthered her interest in and knowledge of gardening-especially orangeries. Her article on English Orangeries was published in The Royal Oak Newsletter, Americans in alliance with the National Trust of England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Barbara now resides in a Victorian home she restored in Wheeling, West Virginia and is a member of the oldest church in the city, First Presbyterian. She also holds membership in the Victorian Old Town Association, the historical society, Friends of Wheeling, and the Civic Garden Club.
