Paul Thorne and his wife Mabel were the American authors of several murder mystery novels and short stories in the early twentieth-century. Together they wrote The Sheridan Road Mystery (1921), The Secret Toll (1922) and The Man in the Next Room (1926). Alone, Paul wrote Spiderweb Clues (1928), Murder in the Fog (1929), That Evening in Shanghai (1931) and Star- Spangled Reputation (1932).
