Lieutenant-Colonel Ninian Pinkney (1776-1825) was an American soldier and author. Following a tour of France he wrote and published Travels Through the South of France, and in the Interior of Provinces of Provence and Languedoc, in the Years 1807 and 1808 (1809). He was the brother of William Pinkney (1764-1822), the American statesman and diplomat, and the father of Ninian Pinkney Jr (1811-1877), medical Director of the USA after the Civil War.
