John Mead Gould (1839-1930) was an American Army officer. He served with the Union Army during the Civil War. After the war he wrote about the units in which he served, and also wrote articles for the National Tribune. His works include: History of the First-Tenth-Twenty-Ninth Maine Regiment (1871), How to Camp Out (1877), Joseph K. F. Mansfield: Brigadier General of the U. S.
